Later features

Items that stay unbuilt until someone asks for them. Current behaviour is in the other pages in this folder. How to run and deploy the app is in the repository README.md.

Version 2

  • Look up a place or area name from a location's coordinates when online. The catalogue uses a name typed by the photographer.
  • Saved shortlists.
  • On a trip, sunrise and sunset times and the terrain line for a date beyond the three-day forecast.
  • A ZIP of one trip.
  • An AI summary on the trip page.
  • Discovery of new places.
  • Revisit priority and status.
  • Tide notes, shown when a location's subcategory is Seascape. ADMIRALTY UK Tidal API: https://www.api.gov.uk/ukho/uk-tidal-api-discovery/?utm_source=chatgpt.com
  • A planned lens or focal range, separate from the focal length stored on the scouting photo.
  • Prices, insurance and maintenance for kit.
  • An equipment database looked up from outside Tempest.
  • Kit in the downloaded ZIP. The ZIP does not include trips either.
  • Additional weather providers beside the initial Open-Meteo forecast. If a comparison is added, show disagreements rather than merging them into one result.
  • Alerts section. A user can select locations to receive alerts based on criteria. To prevent excessive API use, certain APIs will only be called if the free ones detect good conditions.
  • An external client, including ChatGPT, and account API tokens.

Still outside the product

Detailed offline maps, in-app routing, a public catalogue, automatic weather alerts, and guaranteed background uploads are not part of the product.
